Does Google Auto Detect Post last Updated Date in Wordpress?

hello!
I have little confusion about last updated post function

when we update our WordPress website post then google auto detect that post as a last updated? Or we need to use some plugin or code snippet in theme section for it?

On YouTube I seen some video that show add some code snippet and change show published date to last updated post, its just for reader of our post or it will be help to ping google my post updated?

Google automatically discovers and indexes updates to your WordPress website posts. You don’t need to use any plugins or code snippets for this purpose.

The videos you saw on YouTube might be referring to functionality for your website visitors. There are plugins that can display the “last updated” date alongside the publish date. This is purely for informational purposes for your readers and doesn’t affect Google indexing.
