It is called reassessment and generally seen on new or low authority website. When you update your article, you are signalling Google that either you are confused or you have not reviewed your article before publishing. So Google will not trust you easily, if your article was ranking and disappeared suddenly then I will say it’s your bad luck. In most cases, the article is not going to rank any soon.
