Personal Background:
My name is Sonu, and I am from Saran, Bihar. I completed my B.Tech in IT in 2021. I worked at Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) from March 17, 2022, to March 17, 2023. After that, I started blogging full-time.

Starting the Blog:
On May 28, 2023, I registered an Exact Match Domain for my blog.

Choosing the Topic:

  • The topic was new and had never existed before.
  • It was trending.
  • I found zero competition.
  • For the latest trending topics, you won’t find information on SEMrush, Ahrefs, or other SEO tools.
  • I discovered this topic through Google Trends and YouTube.
  • My tech background and knowledge of AI helped in selecting the topic.

Content Creation:
I began writing articles on the chosen topic. Initially, I covered all related keywords to build topical authority. I used Canva to create featured images.

Monetization:

  • Applied for Google AdSense and got approved on June 16, 2023.
  • After 1.5 months, the main keyword ranked in the top 10. In the next 10 to 15 days, it started ranking in the top 3.
  • In August 2023, the main keyword ranked #1, driving 7K to 9K daily traffic, primarily from Turkey, the US, and India.

Content Strategy:
I continued posting content related to the AI niche. Initially, I focused on covering all related keywords. Then, I started promoting some AI tools related to my niche and earned an average of $400 from affiliate sales. Additionally, I charged $50 to $100 per backlink, taking 1 to 2 backlink only per month.

**Performance **
Before the October core update, the site was performing smoothly, receiving 10K daily traffic from organic and direct sources. However, after the update, traffic started decreasing. The site was hit by the core update, reducing traffic to 3K to 4K. I made efforts to recover but traffic did not recover.

Final Decision:
After the March update, traffic dropped to 1K, although the blog still ranked for the main keyword. I realized the topic’s searches were declining, so I decided to sell the blog. I listed it on Flippa and sold it for $3,000 on May 10, 2024.

Earnings Summary:

Backlink Strategy:
I never built backlinks; they came automatically from high-authority websites because no one else had covered the topic as extensively as I had, allowing me to rank #1.

Isme darne jaisa kya h bhai, maine keyword ke intent ko fullfull kiya bs or sare related kw’s cover kiye. Blogging works on hit and trial method, kuch chize kaam kregi or kuch nahi. Ye apko decide karna h ki kya apke liye work kar rha h.

As I mentioned, you can use Google Trends, analyze YouTube trends in your niche, and use Reddit for right now SEO scenario. You can find new ideas to write articles in your Niche using Reddit.

I am running other blogs in parallel, so I am not dependent on just one blog.

Right now, blogging is working fine. After AI Overview comes I don’t know how it will work and how to handle it. For traffic, don’t always rely on Google; explore other traffic sources as well.

Blogging is a business, and you have to put in all the effort you can. Stay updated with Google’s updates, listen to what experts say, and join SEO-related forums to keep up with what’s happening in Blog Industry.

Right now, if you’re trying to rank for all AI tools, it won’t happen. Try to cover a single topic in one blog and avoid going for too many categories.

No didn’t start the same topic blog, may be in future I can.

I wrote around 250 articles for first one.

Secondly, what you suggest,

  1. EMD or PMD?
    [for example, parrotsguideDOTcom OR parakeetguideDOTcom]

Means, should we go with the only ONE very specific niche (EMD, like parakeet) or we should give some room and firstly go with the one specific category and afterwards move to other (PMD, like Parrots)???

  1. Same question for amazon affiliate (BestairpodsDOTcom OR AppleairpodsDOTcom)??

Which is better and why??

  1. I always prefer EMD, In a case if parrotsguideDOTcom OR parakeetguideDOTcom both covers the same intent, firstly focus on primary niche content then cover the other related keywords.

  2. Domain can’t decide the performance, buy exact match keyword in domain helps to rank on specific keyword.
