I’m a beginner and I’m trying to find a micro-niche and subsequently some easy-to-start low difficulty keywords. Can I do keyword research with free methodologies and tricks or having a paid KW tool like SEMrush or Ahrefs (from any group seo tools site) is necessary? Also doing keyword research with free methods would be as efficient as doing it with a paid kw tool?

no need of paid keyword tools as a beginner, you can use free methods available, just do your analysis properly

Paid tool will show you the almost same data.
You have to do the analysis by yourself, even with paid tools.
We called that capacity method.
